The project is a standalone build-to-own factory building of BWI in Cheb. BWI manufactures shock absorbers and brake systems. The company’s customers include the world’s largest car manufacturers such as Audi, BMW, Ford, Opel, PSA, Volvo or Ferrari. According to their own words, BWI has chosen the Cheb industrial park mainly because of the excellent connection to the neighboring Germany where most of its production is supplied.
Location and accessibility
BWI has an excellent transport connection with Germany via motorways A93/A9/A4/A72 to Regensburg, Munich, Leipzig and Chemnitz. Motorway A93 is about 15 minutes away from the industrial park. There is a bus stop of the Cheb municipal public transportation system directly in the park. A European railway corridor from Prague to Nuremberg passes through the city, and railway connection with the adjacent border regions in Germany (Selb, Hof) and the Czech Republic is provided by a local railroad. Almost two million people of the Czech-German region live within the sixty-minute commuting distance.
