NOVIKO Animal Health has taken over premises at Park Zdice. New distribution centre will support international expansion
Czech company NOVIKO Animal Health, a member of the Covetrus group, has started using new premises in Zdice. The company supplies the market with both Calibra brand food for dogs, cats and other pets, as well as products for the care of domestic and farm animals under the Covetrus brand. Thanks to the modern premises with an area of 12,400 m2, NOVIKO Animal Health will expand its warehouse capacity and support the international expansion of its most important brands. From Zdice, it will mainly distribute products requiring specific storage conditions, which is why the building is equipped with a cooling system. Construction of the building was handled by the development company Panattoni, with the Accolade group as the project investor.
NOVIKO Animal Health, a member of the Covetrus group - a global leader in products, technologies and services for animal health care - has taken over its largest distribution centre in the Czech Republic to date. The premises in Zdice, with an area of 12,400 m2, will allow it to store food and other products for animals using modern technologies in accordance with the strictest standards. The company will use the premises for the distribution of its own Calibra and Covetrus brands.
Calibra is a brand of premium and super-premium foods, treats and other supplements for dogs, cats and small rodents. The brand also offers a complete portfolio of specialised veterinary diets. Calibra was founded in the Czech Republic more than 20 years ago and is now actively sold in more than 40 countries around the world.
Covetrus products are designed with animal health professionals in mind, bringing simple, effective and high-quality solutions at a reasonable price. Thanks to the manufacturer's many years of experience, innovative approach and reliable expert advice, Covetrus products have earned the trust of veterinarians in more than 40 countries around the world.
The new premises allow NOVIKO Animal Health to distribute products requiring specific storage conditions. The building is equipped with, among other things, a cooling system that ensures that the internal temperature does not exceed 25 degrees Celsius.
"We are very pleased by NOVIKO's trust and their decision to place their distribution centre in Panattoni Business Park Zdice. The industrial hub near Prague with excellent connections to western markets offers excellent logistics conditions, as well as modern, environmentally friendly and innovative facilities. Within one hall, we were able to create customised spaces for three different operations," says Jan Andrejco, Regional Development Director, Panattoni.
A significant part of the complex is dedicated to natural elements and greenery, which together with the light-coloured facade reduces the heat island effect. There is also a retention tank for rainwater harvesting, which supports efficient water resource management. The industrial park was built at a sufficient distance from the residential areas of the town. Freight traffic serving the companies in the complex does not therefore pass through residential districts.
"The takeover of the premises by NOVIKO Animal Health in Zdice confirms that we have been successful in bringing stable operations to the regions in the long term. From the beginning, we prepared the complex to provide the tenant with everything necessary for distribution, further capacity expansion and support for their growth in European markets. At the same time, we ensure that such investments have a direct and positive impact on the surroundings, including the creation of new job opportunities, the development of related services and overall economic activity in the locality," says Jiri Stransky, Head of Development at Accolade group.
Business Park Zdice is connected to the D5 motorway near exit 28. It is located approximately 40 km southwest of Prague and 120 km from Rozvadov on the Czech-German border. German motorways provide convenient connections to Nuremberg, Regensburg or Munich. There is also a railway corridor for long-distance and freight transport near the complex and the main train terminal in Zdice.
