Seqoy expands at Park Prague Airport II. Comic book heroes are moving to a new hall

Seqoy, a leading distributor of comics, manga and other genre literature, will become the first tenant in a newly constructed hall at the Park Prague Airport II complex. Seqoy has been based in the local industrial zone since 2021, but growing interest in comic book literature and the implementation of more demanding logistics processes are driving the company to larger premises. Construction of the new building with high environmental standards will begin in March this year, with completion planned for early 2027. The developer of the project is Panattoni, and the investor is the Accolade group.

Seqoy is one of the key players in the Czech market for comics, sci-fi and fantasy literature. The company provides comprehensive logistics and exclusive distribution for publishers such as CREW, Planeta9, Straky na vrbě, Carcosa, Golden Dog and Gnóm!, and also distributes genre production from the majority of publishers operating in the Czech market. Thanks to the move to new and larger modern premises at Park Prague Airport II, Seqoy will gain capacity for further expansion. More efficient warehousing and distribution of a growing portfolio of titles will simultaneously improve the services it provides to its customers. Seqoy will occupy more than 3,300 m² of warehouse space and 300 m² of modern offices in the new building.

“The comic book market has been growing and professionalising for a long time, which is why larger and more modern premises are key for us to further increase the efficiency of warehousing and distribution – not just of comics and manga. Bookshops today naturally expect fast delivery of new releases, but above all continuous and reliable replenishment of individual titles. This places high demands on logistics, working with warehouse data and the speed of order processing. Investment in modern logistics technologies will allow us to use our warehouse more efficiently, increase goods turnover and provide an overall higher quality service for our business partners,” Jiří Pavlovský, Managing Director of Seqoy.

Construction of the new, already eighth building at Park Prague Airport II near Pavlov in the Kladno district will begin in March this year. Seqoy will occupy more than a third of the newly built premises, with the remaining area of 5,200 m² prepared for additional tenants. The new building is designed in accordance with the international sustainability certification BREEAM New Construction at the high Excellent level. The project also includes energy-saving LED lighting, an intelligent energy consumption measurement and regulation system, and facilities for electromobility. The building will be heated by heat pumps.

“We are pleased that the successful Panattoni Business Park Prague Airport II zone continues to grow. I am personally very happy when the innovative and sustainable approach that we have long applied in construction is also shared by our clients. This is the case with Seqoy, which has chosen additional premises in this excellently located industrial park for its expansion,” Jan Andrejco, Regional Director of Panattoni.

“The fact that Seqoy is expanding here confirms for us that the complex enables growth for companies from diverse sectors. And we are pleased that this time it involves a representative of the creative world. At the same time, it is a nice example of how logistics is changing. Today, it is no longer just about transporting something somewhere, but about fast, accurate and continuous replenishment of goods, including titles with a large selection and frequent orders. It is precisely for such operations that the combination offered by the park makes sense: strategic location, modern technologies and high standards of sustainable construction,” Jiří Stránský, Head of Development at Accolade.

Park Prague Airport II currently offers nearly 130,000 m² of modern premises divided into six buildings. The location near exit 7 of the D6 motorway ensures strategic connections to Prague, Germany and, via the Prague ring road, to the entire motorway network of the Czech Republic. The strategic position is further strengthened by the nearby Václav Havel Airport. Employees also appreciate the good accessibility by public transport.
