Recruitment Days attracted 300 people to Panattoni Park Stříbro

Approximately three hundred prospective employees visited Panattoni Park Stříbro on the Recruitment Days in the last week in February. Seven companies operating in the industrial park want to hire at least dozens of new employees. They seek people for practically all positions in the production process, be it operators, CNC machinists, or medium-level managerial staff. Almost two hundred people were briefly interviewed during the first two days. The Recruitment Days are organised by Hofmann Personal together with the Plzeň-North Job Centre with support from Panattoni Europe. As many as 1,650 people have already found jobs in Panattoni Park Stříbro.

Recruitment Days attracted 300 people to Panattoni Park Stříbro

“The great interest in the Recruitment Days proves that people want to work in Panattoni Park Stříbro and that there are still enough of those who seek employment with the firms in our Park,” says Pavel Sovička, Managing Director of Panattoni Europe. “This is important because the question of how easily the manufacturing or logistics firms can find interested people with suitable qualifications is currently one of the main criteria for choosing where to invest.”

“We have three projects in Panattoni Park Stříbro: a rental hall for expansion of Ideal Automotive; another building under construction for KION Stříbro – Linde Pohony; and the third is the office furniture manufacturing facility built by Steelcase on land prepared by us. Interest in the Recruitment Days proves that skilled workforce is available in the region and can find good jobs at the new firms,” says Milan Kratina, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Accolade Group.

Eva Jančaříková of Hofmann Personal, organiser of the event, explains that most of the people attending the Recruitment Days are from the villages located along the planned bus line from Plzeň to the Panattoni Park. “Currently, during the Recruitment Days, there is one bus carrying job seekers here in the morning and another in the afternoon. If there is a sufficient number of successful applicants from this side – and so far it looks that way – we will have a regular bus line here by March,” says Eva Jančaříková.

“The plant of the KION Group, KION Stříbro, is an entirely new entity to the industrial zone at Ostrov near Stříbro. The Recruitment Days are therefore a very important opportunity for us. First of all we wanted to inform potential employees about the nature and range of what we make and about what we require and what we offer. Another aspect of the event certainly was that it was an opportunity to build contacts with companies and authorities in the region. The Recruitment Days were successful from both these aspects,” says Radek Čermák, Plant Manager of KION Stříbro – Linde Pohony, where forklift trucks are to be made. The plant is currently under construction. It plans to employ more than a hundred people by the end of this year.

The job centre at Nýřany sent personal letters to more than 200 job seekers to invite them to the Recruitment Days. Others came to Panattoni Park Stříbro in response to the distributed leaflets or in response to ads in local newspapers. “Already after the first day we were able to say that the event was successful. We now consider repeating the Recruitment Days, inviting people from the villages on the other side of the region,” adds Eva Jančaříková.

Currently there are seven companies operating in Panattoni Park Stříbro. Three major investors have come over the last couple of months. A new facility was built to accommodate the expanding operations of the Ideal Automotive manufacturer of car carpets and plastic interior components; the Steelcase office furniture manufacturer has moved its operation to the Park; and the latest newcomer is KION – Linde Pohony, which is building a new factory to make warehouse trucks. Car seats for BMW and Volkswagen have been made for some time already in a plant of the Lear Corporation. The GEA compressor manufacturer and other companies also operate in Panattoni Park Stříbro.

The extension of the Zone, prepared for the three new investors by Panattoni Europe together with the Czech Accolade Group, won an „Industrial Zone of the Year“ award for the Zone from the CzechInvest Agency and the Association for Foreign Investments (AFI); the Plzeň Chamber of Commerce also appreciated the Zone as prominent investment initiative in the Plzeň Region.
