Successful start of the season for the Accolade Smrž Racing team
After a long winter break, the new season of the World Supersport 300 category kicked off the weekend before Easter in Aragon, Spain and continued two weeks later in Assen, the Netherlands. Two young riders from the Accolade Smrž Racing team, Petr Svoboda and Yeray Saiz Marquez, are constantly improving. Their results prove it: Svoboda gained 5 points for 11th place and only 16-year-old Saiz Marquez managed to squeeze into the top 20. In Assen, Svoboda attacked the top 10 twice, but did not finish due to a fall in the first race and a penalty in the second. Saiz Marquez finished 18th on Saturday and 17th the following day.
“The first race weekend is always important because we need to settle into it,” says the team manager and former rider Jakub Smrž. “On behalf of the whole team, I would like to thank all our partners and everyone who’s behind us,” adds Smrž. We keep our fingers crossed for the upcoming May race in Estoril, Portugal!
