New Impulse for the Sokolov Region: Accolade and SUAS GROUP Invest Billions in Industrial Infrastructure
The transformation of the Karlovy Vary Region continues. A new industrial zone will be established near Staré Sedlo in the Sokolov region, bringing billions in investment to an area historically associated with coal mining. Low-emission, environmentally friendly halls will be built on an area of 38.4 hectares. The project is being prepared by SUAS GROUP and Accolade Holding, a leader in industrial real estate investment. Representatives of both parties confirmed the establishment of a joint venture by signing an agreement.
The goal of the project is to support the long-term development of the Sokolov region at a time when it is transforming following the decline of brown coal mining. Both partners have the ambition to attract companies from manufacturing, research and development, logistics, and technology sectors that will complement the local economy with new industries, build on the industrial tradition, and create skilled jobs. The joint venture between SUAS GROUP and Accolade Holding is intended to accelerate the preparation of the site and open doors to first-class tenants seeking modern and well-accessible facilities.
"The Karlovy Vary Region is one of our flagship regions in the Accolade portfolio, and I personally have a very close relationship with it. For many years we focused on the Cheb area, later we expanded our activities to Ostrov and Karlovy Vary, and now we are newly entering the Sokolov region, which we have long perceived as a location with exceptional potential. The joint venture with SUAS GROUP opens the possibility for us to start implementing the first project here with approximately 170,000 square metres of total leasable area. We want to create a modern industrial complex that will benefit Sokolov and local residents, as well as the entire region and the domestic economy,"
describes CEO of Accolade Milan Kratina.
Assuming all necessary permits can be obtained during this year, construction could begin in early 2027.
"We have successfully concluded negotiations during which we discussed the form of cooperation with the Accolade group. The result is a joint venture agreement with SUAS GROUP. Based on this agreement, project work and permitting processes will be initiated, focusing on preparing the site for implementation, and negotiations with potential tenants of the planned halls will also begin. We believe that our cooperation will be very constructive and will become a fundamental impulse for the transformation of the Sokolov region and the entire Karlovy Vary Region,"
states David Chládek, Managing Director of SUAS Real Estate.
SUAS GROUP was established as the next step in the transformation of the Sokolovská uhelná group and today focuses on developing new projects outside the traditional coal business, including industrial development. Modern industrial spaces are intended to support economic growth in the area and the creation of job opportunities.
The Staré Sedlo North Industrial Zone is located northeast of the town of Sokolov, in close proximity to the European international road E49. It offers quick connections to both Czech and foreign markets. Karlovy Vary is approximately 20 kilometres away, Cheb approximately 30 kilometres, Pilsen 80 kilometres, and Prague 150 kilometres. The proximity to the German border is also a significant advantage.
