The grounds of the development and manufacturing center of GE Aviation in Letňany, Prague, consist of a factory building and an office building with gross leasable area 20 223 m2. GE develops, assembles and services its turboprop engines here. The building was built in 1980s and from the very beginning it was used for aircraft manufacturing. The building was recently thoroughly modernized, and after that GE moved in after it had purchased Walter Engines, a traditional Czech manufacturer of small turboprop engines.

Location and accessibility

The Prague district of Letňany is located in the northwest part of the city. A Prague bypass highway approaching ramp is located near the building, which makes the site easily accessible. A Prague public transport stop is within walking distance. The history of aircraft manufacturing at this place dates back to the early days of aviation, and several major aircraft engineering plants are located there. The building is located adjacent to the unpaved airfield of Prague – Letňany; Prague – Kbely airport with paved two-kilometer runway is ten minutes away.
