Accolade secures additional financing worth tens of millions of euros in loans to support developments in Karlovy Vary and Bratislava

Accolade Group, which focuses on investments in modern industrial infrastructure across Europe, has signed two loan agreements with UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, totalling EUR 34.9 million (CZK 880 million). The secured funds will be used to finance the construction of two industrial parks – one in Karlovy Vary and another in Bratislava, marking entirely new locations for the Group.

Accolade secures additional financing worth tens of millions of euros in loans to support developments in Karlovy Vary and Bratislava

“UniCredit Bank has been one of our long-standing partners, and we greatly appreciate the trust they have placed in us, allowing us to continue developing industrial infrastructure across Europe. The Karlovy Vary Region has long been a strategic area for us, where we have successfully created attractive conditions for top-tier manufacturing, e-commerce and logistics companies. Entering the Bratislava market is another important milestone in our operation in Slovakia. Crucially, both of these new projects have attracted major global players that will bring further economic growth and new opportunities to these regions,” said Tomáš Procházka, CFO of Accolade.

Global automotive company to launch operations in Bratislava

The first of the two loans, amounting to EUR 15.5 million (CZK 400 million), will be used by Accolade to finance the construction of a facility in the Bratislava North II industrial park. The 20,000-square-metre facility is set to be handed over to its tenant, a global automotive company, in the first half of this year. The park is located 25 km northwest of Bratislava, in the cadastral area of the municipality of Zohor, which is Accolade’s second location in Slovakia. The Group had begun developing its first Slovak industrial park in Košice in 2019 (now fully occupied), and by 2024, the site became part of the Accolade Industrial Fund portfolio. Key tenants in Košice include major healthcare companies such as Siemens Healthineers, Dr. Max and Greenpharm, a producer of nutritional supplements.

“Finalizing this transaction is another step towards achieving our vision of co-creating high-quality real estate projects. Together with Accolade, we are building sustainable and technologically advanced business infrastructure that meets the highest standards of European industrial development while contributing to the economic growth and sustainability of the entire region,” said Štefan Brychta, Director of Advisory and Financial Solutions at UniCredit Bank.

Nearly half a billion investment in the Karlovy Vary industrial park

Funds from the second loan, amounting to EUR 19.4 million (nearly half a billion CZK), will be invested by Accolade into the development of the Karlovy Vary industrial park. The site will be occupied by WACKER, a German company specializing in silicone compound enhancement. The 23,000-square-metre facility, which will serve as a production plant and include laboratories and testing facilities, is scheduled for handover in the summer of this year.

“The financing of the Karlovy Vary industrial park represents a key investment in the region’s modern infrastructure. This project not only strengthens economic growth and creates new jobs but also ensures a strategic connection to the German market. I am also very pleased that we have been able to build on our successful cooperation and support Accolade in their continued growth,” emphasized Petr Svoboda, Director of Real Estate Financing at UniCredit Bank.

Both industrial parks boast strategic locations with excellent transport accessibility. Bratislava North II benefits from its proximity to major European transport routes, providing direct links to the capitals of three countries – Bratislava, Vienna and Budapest. The Karlovy Vary park, located on the northeastern edge of the city, is the first modern industrial facility within Karlovy Vary and benefits significantly from its close proximity to neighbouring Germany.
